Research Areas
Research Expertise: Gliogenesis, Neuroinflammation, Neurodegeneration and Regeneration
Research Directions: The long-term goal of our laboratory is to elucidate the role of interactions between neuronal cells and glial cells in the central nervous system in neurodevelopment, neurodegeneration, and regeneration.
Research Topics:
(1) Investigating the mechanisms by which inflammatory molecules regulate stem cell differentiation into neurons and glial cells.
(2) Investigating the molecular mechanisms by which glial cells support and protect neuronal cells.
(3) Investigating the relationship between metabolic syndrome–induced neuroinflammation and affective disorders.
(4) Investigating the molecular mechanisms regulating stem cell oncogenic transformation.
