The undergraduate curriculum of the department covers Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biodiversity, and Conservation Biology.

For students admitted in the 105th academic year, the total graduation requirement is 132 credits, including 29 credits of departmental required courses, 22 credits of College of Life Sciences required courses, and 28 credits of General Education (1 credit Exploring Tainan, 8 credits language courses, 4–18 credits domain general education, and 1–15 credits integrative general education), totaling 79 required credits; plus 53 elective credits.
The undergraduate program has no formal divisions. “Tracks” are only provided as references for students’ future course planning and research directions.
As a comprehensive university with 11 colleges, students in this department may take courses across other departments to support interdisciplinary learning, enhancing preparation for further study and employment. In addition, students are encouraged to apply for minors, double majors, or various programs offered by the university.
In response to university policies in recent years, the department encourages students to explore their interests while maintaining academic foundations, and has gradually adjusted the distribution of required and elective credits as shown below.

Notes:

Resolution 1130509: From the 110th admission year onward, maximum outside-department elective credits are increased to 20 credits.

Resolution 1130926: From the 112th admission year onward, internship courses are changed to elective credits; department required credits are reduced to 28, and graduation requirement reduced to 131 credits. Starting from academic year 114, “Service Learning (I)(II)(IV)” courses are discontinued.
