The Symposium on Animal Behavior and Ecology is the largest conference in Taiwan in the field of ecology and evolution, with the highest number of participants. This year, attendance has exceeded 1,100 participants. The 35th symposium was held from January 22 to 24, 2024, at Academia Sinica in Taipei. Associate Professor Yi-Ching Chen was invited to deliver an opening keynote speech titled “When You See a Mountain as Not a Mountain: A Decade Review of Global Biodiversity Redistribution,” in which she reviewed the developmental trajectory of global biodiversity redistribution research and shared her long-term research findings in this field. She concluded by speaking as a female scientist, calling for more diverse voices in academia.

PhD student Namfon Booncharoen (Li Yuxin) presented her research titled “Applying invasive ecology to test how biotic interactions affect range shifts across large gradients” at this conference and received an honorable mention in the poster competition.
